About Me
I grew up in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. My father was a veteran and factory supervisor who worked too hard for too little pay. My mother is a Portuguese immigrant with a rare disability who, like my father, put herself through terrible pain to help ensure our family had just enough to survive. When I was twelve, I was struck by a pickup truck as a pedestrian and suffered serious injuries. The medical bills nearly bankrupted our family. Watching my parents go above and beyond to provide for us, only for the systems around us to consistently pull them backwards, imparted a strong sense of fairness and justice that I carry with me as an attorney.
After I finished undergrad at UofL, I spent ten years in the workforce before becoming a lawyer. Many of those were spent working in the courts; but I have also worked in factories, on construction sites, and in bars and restaurants. Eventually, unsatisfied doing anything else, I returned to my calling. I spent a few years before and during law school working basically every non-lawyer position in an injury firm.
With that experience on my back, a young daughter in tow, and the support of my wife and family, I went to law school at Louisville's Louis D. Brandeis School of Law. There, I won multiple oral argument competitions, became a Moot Court National Finalist, and finished Magna Cum Laude.
I have been a member of this community since 2007. I love this city and its people and am honored to provide elite legal representation in Louisville and across Kentucky now and for the rest of my life.
